About the CANDIDATE
Serving The Community
· Steve Hooke has been part of this community for his entire life, working tirelessly to make the City of Brockton a better place
· Works in Municipal Government (Public Safety) having served as both a union employee and manager for 30+ years
· Applied for and received millions of dollars in grant funding for Public Safety infrastructure improvements including construction and outfitting of a new Regional Emergency Communications Center in a neighboring community
· City of Brockton Emergency Manager for over 9 years managing multiple large scale incidents disasters including water emergencies, storms, fires, a pandemic, civil unrest and most recently the evacuation of the Brockton Hospital.
· City of Brockton COVID Task Force member
· City of Brockton Traffic Commission member
· City of Brockton Public Safety Building Committee
· City of Brockton Pedestrian Safety Task Force member
· Vice-Chair of the State 911 Commission (Appointed by the Governor)
· 2016 Brockton Citizen of the Year
· 2019 Association of Public Safety Communications Official's Atlantic Director of the Year
· 2021 Association of Public Safety Communications Official's International Director of the Year
